ShareSpace - Ep3 Small Steps, Big Impact: Rethinking AI Safety After the Paris AI Summit
The Paris AI Summit, co-hosted by France and India, was set to be a landmark event. With over 300 countries represented and the world’s top AI enthusiasts watching closely, expectations were high.
Did the summit surface critical issues? Absolutely. But did it drive tangible outcomes? Sadly, not as much as we had hoped.
In a conversation with Mehak, an interesting perspective emerged: Maybe we don’t need sweeping policies to make AI safer and more ethical. Instead, small, actionable steps could make a big difference. Some ideas include:
🔹 Introducing AI safety education in schools and colleges
🔹 Conducting AI awareness sessions, similar to investor education programs
🔹 Making risk factors more transparent and easily accessible
🔹 Strengthening security measures around data management and AI training
These are just a few steps, but even small changes can drive meaningful progress — ensuring AI remains secure, unbiased, and innovative.
